Crafts: Act 1, Scene 2: DeNami Sketch Challenge 3, entry #2

As the deadline for the DeNami Design Sketch Challenge #3 quickly approaches (see details in last post), I decided to make another entry. However, I wanted to put a little spin on it, so I rotated the sketch counter-clockwise. I'm thrilled with how this card turned out, especially since I made it specifically for a family birthday (You'll know who you are when you receive it!). To mix things up even more, I used several different techniques and products which I will describe below. This card simply makes me smile, and I hope it has the same effect on you! Love, Amy I'm including a second picture so you can really see the different dimensions of this card. To give the balloons a shiny look, I used Diamond Glaze. Also, Stickles are the best! All the glitter you see on the card is created using Stickles. If you've never used them, I strongly suggest going and buying some now. You will get addicted (It's all your fault, Cindy & Wayne!). I added extra mounting foam behind the balloons to make them look like they are floating away, and I also gave the present added depth. Supply List: Stamps: Balloons (DeNami Design), Heart Present (DeNami Design), Happy Birthday (part of word set by The Paper Studio), Patterned Background (part of set by Martha Stewart), Small Dotted Circle (part of set by Inkadinkado), Small Heart (part of set by Hero Arts), Small Flower (part of set by Hero Arts) Paper: Blue card (The Paper Company), Purple textured (DCWV), Patterned paper (S*E*I, "Happy Day" set) Inks: Tuxedo Black (Memento), White (Stampabilities), Silver (Stampabilities), Orchid (Brilliance), Ice Jade (Color Box Chalk) Other: Diamond Glaze, Glitz Stickles (Grape), Stickles (Cotton Candy, Baby Blue), Copic Markers, Spica Glitter Markers, Gelly Roll White Pen, Colored Pencil

Crafts: Act 1, Scene 1: DeNami Sketch Challenge 3

My biggest inspiration, when it comes to card-making, is DeNami Design Rubber Stamps (www.denamidesign.com). While I own an ever-increasing collection of stamps from several different companies, I find myself drawn to and inspired most by DeNami. Their images are both elegant and gorgeous as well as whimsical and adorable. I have fallen head over heels in love with this company, and I have had a blast over the past several months entering their challenges. Their current challenge is Sketch Challenge #3. The above picture acts as the template for my newest creation. Below you will see my entry into this challenge. I plan to show you some of my past favorite submissions on my shiny, new blog, but for now, check this out: I created this card using DeNami stamps that I just recently won via a DeNami giveaway. Ecstatic does not even describe how elated I was when I won! I jumped up and down for days, and about the time I calmed myself down the package arrived, so I started bouncing up and down all over again! On this card, I used the following supplies: Stamp: Polka Dot border by DeNami Design; Ink: New Sprout by Memento Stamp: Paw print stamp by DeNami Design, Ink: Lilac Posies by Memento Stamp: Doggy Bone stamp by DeNami Design; Ink: Bahama Blue by Memento Stamp: Doghouse stamp by DeNami Design; Ink: Tuxedo Black by Memento, colored with Copic marker & colored pencil Stamp: Poodle stamp (part of Playful Puppies set) by DeNami Design; Ink: Tuxedo Black by Memento; Accents: Fun Fluff by DeNami Design & Distress Stickles in Black Soot Stamp: hi! stamp(part of Everyday Greetings set) by DeNami Design; Ink: Tuxedo Black by Memento; Accents: Stickles in Magenta Ribbons from Celebrate It! by Michael's Button is covered with Stickles in Turquoise Paper is a combination of DCWV & other scraps. Prologue: My 1st Blog Post

I did it! I actually did it! I finally started a blog after months of hopes, dreams, plans, and speculation. My life is rather crazy, between working on my performing, marketing jobs, and my cards, but I am so lucky to get to do what truly makes me happy.

So, I hope you'll check back each week for updates on my cards and my performing! You can also catch me on Facebook.

Thanks for reading!

Love,
Amy
