Chance at Redemption?

Hello, crafty bloggers! I often ramble on with my blog posts, but I'm going to make this brief...for me, at least. Ha! The card I am sharing with you today is a magazine submission reject. It was one of two cards I submitted to a magazine for my very first time, and I was soooo excited, but alas, I didn't make it. I've been hoping for the perfect chance to share this card, and then The Play Date Cafe posted their next challenge. Oh, my goodness! It's perfect! Check out this inspiration photo:

It is the exact color scheme and theme of my card! I can't stand it! I'm so excited, I just have to show you the card now!

This is one of my all-time favorite cards that I have made, so let's hope it brings me luck for my first ever challenge win! *fingers crossed* Wish me luck! Hopefully, this magazine reject will bring redemption!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Amy

More Monochromatic Fun!

Hopefully, you were able to enjoy the fabulous Monochromatic-themed April Blog Hop from DeNami Design. It was INCREDIBLE! I had so much fun participating, and I am always inspired by the other projects. Thirty insanely talented women! WOW! If you missed it, don't worry! It's too late to win a prize, but it's NEVER too late to hop and leave comments! Just head on over to DeNami's blog for the details.

The other great thing is that they have a bonus challenge, and I decided to create another card for this! I wanted to do something totally different. Not only did I go for a somewhat minimalistic design, but I wanted to do something unique with ribbon. First of all, I colored my grosgrain ribbons using my Copic markers so the colors would match my project. Second, I layered the ribbon then twisted it! I thought it was really fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Happy Crafting,

Amy

DeNami Design's April Blog Hop: MONOCHROMATIC!

DeNami April Blog Hop

Words cannot even describe how excited I am to be a part of DeNami Design's April Blog Hop. These blog hops are always insanely fun, overwhelmingly inspiring, and just darn fabulous! I'm sure you'll agree, whether this is your first time hopping with DeNami or if you're a happy return hopper. Before I show you my card, let's go over a few details.

If you've been following the hop from the beginning, you should have just arrived from Libby Hickson's blog: Libby's Little Addiction. Libby is tremendously talented, and her cards always have an exceptional use of color. I can't wait to see her creation for today's hop! I'm sure it's stunning! If you got lost along the hop, or you've just happened to hop in right now, I strongly suggest you start at the beginning so you can see all the talented participants. It all begins here: DeNami Design's Blog.

Also, it's strongly recommended that you leave comments on each blog for two reasons:

  1. It's just a lovely thing to do. It always makes my day to read comments from people who have read my blog. It's a short, simple way to spread smiles and joy!

  2. You could win a prize! As if spreading joy isn't enough of a prize, you could actually win a gift certificate to DeNami Design's incredible online store. They've got HUNDREDS of amazing stamps, as well as delectable ribbons, the most shimmery glitter you've ever seen, and sooooo much more! Plus, read at the bottom of this posting for another chance to win!

I'm really anxious to share my card with you, though, so here goes:

Green and blue are my favorite colors, but I wanted to go for something different and springy, so I chose PINK! Recently, the ever-talented Michele Gross posted a fantastic discovery. She layered the Harlequin Border stamp on top of itself, creating an argyle-like look. I totally FLIPPED over that, so I decided to give it a whirl. It's hard to see because I used such a light pink for the second layer, but if you look closely, you can see it.

I had a blast with this card. Originally, I wanted the tiered edges of the Harlequin Border stamping to show, but at the last minute, I just HAD to use the ribbons. Oh, and I'm addicted to masking now, which is how I stamped the polka dot border across the middle. I just LOVE to learn new things. If you ever come across a new technique that makes you squeal with delight, please let me know about it! Send me an email or simply leave a comment on my blog.

Here's a close-up photo of the center details:

Well, this is your last stop for the blog hop! However, don't forget to go back to DeNami's blog and leave a comment there. Let them know how much you enjoyed hopping! Also, here's the info I promised you about another chance to win! YOU can play along and create your own monochromatic project! Go to DeNami's blog and link your project for a chance to win, not only a few stamps, but you'll also get a guaranteed spot in May's blog hop! That is a FANTASTIC prize! These blog hops have been filling up SUPER FAST!

I hope you've smiled, ooooh'd, and ahhhhhh'd your way through this blog hop, and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Crafting!

Amy
