DeNami Design's March Blog Hop: FUZZY FRIENDS!

YAY!  Another blog hop day is here!

You should have arrived here from the incomparable Wendy's blog.  I know I've gushed about her many times before on my blog, but seriously, if it wasn't for her and her gorgeous creations, I might never be the DeNami super fan that I am.  She is truly remarkable!

If you need to start this hop from the beginning, head back to DeNami Design's blog.  Make sure to leave comments along the way for your chance to win a gift certificate!

Now, I have a confession.  I was not going to participate in this month's blog hop.  I have been so busy recently, and the last two months, I was so stressed about getting the blog hop projects and posts done on time, I figured I needed a month off.  However, with my recent purchase of some of DeNami's newest critters I simply could NOT stay away!  (In case you didn't see my very first haul video, check out my post HERE.)  However, I found myself somewhat overwhelmed about what to make.  I have several "go to" layouts that I tend to use over and over again.  They are classic layouts great for any occasion, but I felt the need to stretch myself a bit this month.  That being said, my first attempt at a card was a disaster.  It just didn't work.  In my head, there were some great concepts, but it just didn't pan out in reality.  So, I decided to simplify.  I made my mind up to create some simple mini cards.  I don't know about you, but I am so sick of winter, so I needed something bright, cheerful, and Spring-y.  So, here's what I made:

I know the flowers don't exactly match the theme, but they made me think of Flower, the skunk, from Bambi, so that's where this ties in (in my head at least).  I used glitter papers by DCWV, and I added a little heart to the skunks using Glam Pink Stickles.  Here are some more pictures:

The next stop on the hop is the AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING Barbara's blog.  She's a blogging ROCK STAR.  I'm a HUGE fan!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you again next month!

Happy Stamping!

My First Video Haul!!!

I have never posted a video before on my blog, and something inspired me to record myself opening my package from DeNami Design. It just arrived today, and I couldn't wait to open it! Please excuse the overall poor quality of this video. I am trying to hold my phone in one hand while grabbing stuff with the other hand. It is a mess, but hopefully a fun and entertaining mess.

I just love DeNami Design!

DeNami Design's February Blog Hop: POLKA DOTS!

POLKA DOTS!!!!  AHHHHH!  I LOVE this month's blog hop theme!!  Who doesn't love happy li'l polka dots?  Seriously!  Not only are they cheerful and playful, but my OCD loves how they are perfectly spaced.  *happy sigh*

You should have hopped here from Lisa's Blog.  Ugh.  She is so amazing.  Love her blog!

If you need to head back to the mothership, head on over to DeNami Design's blog.

Now, it's time for my project.  So many ideas!  This idea popped into my head while I was in bed the other night.  I couldn't sleep so I decided to try and come up with blog hop card ideas.  I just adore the Medium Dot background stamp, so I figured that would be my background (seen below using Pearlescent Coral ink by Brilliance on top of DeNami's red cardstock).  But...what stamp should I use as the focal point of my card?  Well, I love the Garden Bouquet stamp, but I haven't used it yet, and I got inspired to do some fussy cutting and layer those flowers to make them pop! Well, before I knew it, I fell asleep, and I totally forgot about my plans until BAM! This afternoon (I'm writing this on Wednesday), I remembered my idea and decided to get down to it and make it happen!  Here's the finished product:

Here's a close-up of the flowers.  I layered each flower with 3 layers. The middle layers were all adhered at an angle to give the flowers a fuller look with more petals.  I used the Large Dot Circle stamp around the bouquet, and finished off the image with a puffy satin bow from May Arts ribbon (I used some of the Pearlescent Coral ink on the bow so the color would blend in better with the rest of the card.).  Oh, and no flower is complete without a glittery center (Gotta love Stardust glitter pens!), am I right?

Here's a side angle view so you can see all the dimensions. You can also see how I added some dots to the frame around the sentiment.  The frame is sitting on top of some gorgeous washi tape by Queen & Co.

All stamps used are by DeNami Design.

Please leave a comment below and tell me what you think!  Make sure to leave comments on all the blogs for a chance to win a gift certificate for DeNami Design!

Your next stop is Jennifer's blog!  I can hardly wait to see what she makes for today!  She has truly wowed me with some of the past hops!

Thanks for stopping by today!

DeNami Design's January Blog Hop: VALENTINE!

I'm so excited to be back blogging after a few months away!  You wouldn't believe how much has changed in my life over the past few months!  What a whirlwind holiday season!  I had an awesome birthday!  PLUS, I got a huge promotion at work!  Life is sooooo stinkin' wonderful right now!  EEEEK!  I'm so happy!  This month's blog theme is a huge part of my amazing life, too.  I spent most of my life being hopeful but ultimately let down by Valentine's Day.  It's a tough holiday when you're single.  It just is.  However, last year, Valentine's Day was not only perfect, but it was the start of the most perfect relationship I ever could have imagined.  I met my love over a year and a half ago, and we hung out as friends on several occasions, but it was Valentine's Day 2013 that shifted us into romantic relationship territory, and we haven't looked back since.  We are so happy!  Each day with him gets better and better, and I can only imagine how wonderful our future will be!

So, now that my mushiness is out there, let's turn our attention back to the blog hop.

You should have hopped here from lovely and talented Linda's Blog.

If you want to start from the beginning, make sure to go to DeNami Design's Blog.  Make sure to check out their new release stamps, too!  I know that my wish list just got a lot longer!

Don't forget to leave comments along the way!  It's a great way to show the bloggers how much you appreciate them, AND it gives you a chance to win a prize from DeNami Design!  WAHOO!

Now, for my valentine, I was really struggling to figure out just what to do with this.  I have a bazillion ideas floating around in my head, but I struggled to catch one and make it happen. However, I've been dying to use my squirrel stamps from last year's release!  (Side note:  I can't WAIT to get the new woodland critter stamps from the newest release so these squirrels can have some friends!)  PLUS, I recently bought some ADORABLE washi tape from October Afternoon that features squirrels and acorns, and it matches perfectly!  So, here's my valentine:

All stamps used are from DeNami Design.

Next stop on the hop is the unbelievably amazing Lisa's Blog.  She is one of those bloggers that NEVER EVER disappoints!  I can't wait to see what she's made for us today!

Thanks again for hopping!

DeNami Design November Blog Hop

My sincerest apologies, bloggy friends!  This month has been a whirlwind, and I was unable to complete a project for this month's DeNami Design blog hop.  I will spare you the boring details, but I am swamped.  Mostly good stuff, though, so no worries!  However, don't let that stop you from hopping along to see all the other AMAZING projects!

You should have arrived here from:  http://pattie-g.blogspot.com/

DeNami Design's Blog:  http://www.denami.blogspot.com/

Thank you all for your support.  I may need to take some time off from blogging until my life settles down a bit.  So, if you don't see me post, just know that it's because I'm busy.  However, we'll see how long that lasts.  I LOVE making Christmas cards, so hopefully I can find some time for them.  Wish me luck!

Sending lots of love out to you all!  Enjoy hopping, and I hope to create and post again soon.

Love,
Amy

DeNami Design's October Blog Hop: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Blog hop! Blog hop!  What a treat!  Look at cards and crafts so neat!
Hoppity hop from blog to blog!  Leave your comments all along!
You might even win a prize!  Wouldn't that be a great surprise?

Gotta love Blog Hop Time, and I love this Happy Halloween theme!  I'm sure we'll see all sorts of cute & spooky projects!

You should have hopped here from Emily Keaton's blog.  She's a blog STAR and super talented!
If you need to start from the beginning, go to DeNami Design's blog.

As for my card, it requires a little bit of background info.  I have become obsessed with foxes. Like SERIOUSLY obsessed!  It all started back in June, I think.  My boyfriend and I were driving along a wooded road when I spotted a scrawny li'l fox trotting along the side of the road.  I immediately said, "Bryce, it's a fox!  Can I keep him?  Please?  PLEASE?  He's so cute and gingery!  I want him!"  Bryce very patiently told me no and explained that the cute li'l fox would eat our cats. However, ever since then I like to tease Bryce and ask for a fox.  "Can I get one NOW?"  "Well, once we have a fox..."  "I can have a fox, right?"  He always responds with an exasperated chuckle and a firm, "No, Amy.  We're not getting a fox."  Well a month or so ago, I discovered the viral video "The Fox" by Ylvis.  Watch it HERE.  It is my new obsession.  This song is HILARIOUS, and it fit so well with my fox obsession.  So, on a recent trip to IKEA, Bryce and I found fox stuffed animals, and guess what?  He bought me one.  My wonderful boyfriend finally bought me my very own fox:

So, needless to say, I'm still obsessed with foxes.  I recently was looking at a catalog for a fancy paper store, and BAM! They had a whole page of fox goodies:

When looking at this page, I got inspired to make my blog hop card!  Look at those cute fox place cards!  Even better, check out that awesome fox mask!  Wait...a fox mask?!  Maybe a DeNami chickie could wear a fox mask!  BAM!  Idea fully formed!  So, I used an Imaginesce clear acrylic fox stamp and combined it with the large chickie stamp, and here is our little trick-or-treater:

I used several other DeNami stamps to create the Halloween themed background, and who doesn't love a little bit of May Arts ribbon across the middle of a card, am I right?

Here's a close-up of my foxy chickie:

By the way....DeNami Design powers-that-be (I'm looking at you, Nami & Paulina), can you PLEASE have a fox or several foxes in your next release?  PLEASE?!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my fun li'l fox/chick.  He sure makes me smile!

Next up on the hop?  Oh, boy, you are in for a treat:  Dana Seymour's blog.  Dana is my blogging idol.  I am so in awe of her.  She's flawless, in my mind.  She's gorgeous, funny, sweet, and I'm pretty sure she has more talent in her left pinky toe than most human beings have.  I am not exaggerating when I say she is a card-making GENIUS.  I adore her.  I'm amazed by her.  I want to BE her when I grow up.  She's a rock star.  Pure and simple.  Can't wait to see her creation! Let's hop on over, shall we?

Happy crafting!
